Cloud Surfing

Bill Austen

In CLOUD SURFING, each of the stories unfolds with the technical details described as meticulously as possible. These vary from exciting action like jumping into pools every day wearing lifejackets, to crucial survival tips like how to avoid stray bullets.
All of this helps to explain the excitement that Jumbo pilots experience every time they go to work. Pilots essentially strap a 400-ton aircraft to their backs, and then literally hurtle around the world, going as fast and as high as they possibly can.

The author has a wonderful turn of phrase and provides a rare and unique insight into his life as an airline pilot. He covers the actual flying and technical side, presenting complex issues well - interspersed with humour, much of it self deprecating.

- Jamie - Amazaon Customer Review

Funny, scary and exciting, an awesome read of what it is like to fly 747 Jumbo jets around the world.
