Yirrkala School, a remote school in East Arnhemland (NT), has a long-standing program of bilingual, ‘both ways’ education. Children from the school created Gulun’ (Billabong) in a workshop led by ILF lifetime ambassador Alison Lester.

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) is a national charity working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander remote Communities across Australia. We are Community-led, responding to requests from remote Communities and publishing books created by Community – many in First Languages.
